The creation team

Ray & Anna have been a couple since 2009 and have been railway modellers since 2015. They now live down in Poole, Dorset but before that they lived in a house that was really too small for model railways, hence their preference for n scale. Anna works in the Laser industry and Ray is retired; they were both members of an acoustic folk band "Two Coats Colder" but now play as the duo Bass & Taylor, playing  gigs up and down the country. In between gigs and work they somehow find the time to work on their model railway layouts “Feldspar”  "White Meadow Quarry" and “Ambleton Vale.”

The layout blurb

Set in rolling countryside somewhere in central England in the 1960s, Ambleton Vale station is a fictitious terminus at the end of a branch line connecting the village of Ambleton Vale with the county town some 20 miles away.  It has survived in the face of the general decline in rail travel because of a flourishing livestock market on the outskirts of the village, and the nearby Ambleton Vale racecourse.
